Do not walk without shoes if you have neuropathy
- This diabetic patient came to an emergency room because his 2nd toe turned black. He further said he stepped on a rusty dirty nail at work and did not feel any pain. He had a rusty nail stuck in the foot until he took his shoe off. He did not feel much pain so he did not pay much attention until a few days later when he noticed dusky black 2nd toe and some pus from the bottom of the foot. He came to the emgency room.
- He lost his second toe and a vacuum suction device was applied on the open wound in order to remove more pus deep in the foot structures.
